On Wednesday 12 June we held an evening networking event to find out the latest news and innovations from guest speakers Professor Arlene Astell and Dr Tim Adlam from Challenging Obstacles and Barriers to Assistive Living Technologies (COBALT).<\/p>\n

We also heard from Professor Ian Craddock, University of Bristol who introduced a new programme called Sensor Platform for HEalthcare in a Residential Environment (SPHERE).<\/p>\n

'Untitled #1' the Lego Robotics World Champions from Bath demonstrated their fingerprint recognition door entry system. The device supports people with dementia and other capacity reducing issues experienced in older age by giving memory prompts and photos of the person calling at their front door. The team of four girls and three boys are only 12 to 15 years old and are now researching the possibility of setting up their own business and bringing their doorbell device to market.<\/p>\n
