{"id":1361,"date":"2013-11-01T16:15:23","date_gmt":"2013-11-01T16:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/healthresearch\/?p=1361"},"modified":"2013-11-01T16:15:23","modified_gmt":"2013-11-01T16:15:23","slug":"nihr-research-professorships-round-4-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/healthresearch\/2013\/11\/01\/nihr-research-professorships-round-4-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"NIHR Research Professorships: round 4 announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The NIHR Trainees Coordinating Centre (TCC)         is         pleased to announce the launch of Round 4 of the NIHR Research         Professorships.<\/p>\n<p>NIHR Research Professorships aims to           fund           leaders in the early part of their careers to lead research,           to promote           effective translation of research ('bench to bedside[T<sub>1<\/sub>]           and           'campus to clinic' [T<sub>2<\/sub>]) and strengthen research           leadership           at the highest academic levels.<\/p>\n<p>The posts aim to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enable           outstanding           early career academics to spend a fixed 5 year period           dedicated to           translational (T<sub>1<\/sub> or T<sub>2<\/sub>) research at           Professorial           level;<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate           strong           research leadership and develop research capacity in areas           critical to           accelerating the transfer of research ideas into improved           health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nominees should be working in the fields           of           experimental medicine, public health medicine, health services           research           or methodological research.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline for         institutional nominations via the new online application system         is         <strong>23<sup>rd<\/sup> January 2014<\/strong>. Please note that a \u00a0maximum         of two         nominations will be accepted per HEI.
