{"id":273,"date":"2010-07-30T16:42:04","date_gmt":"2010-07-30T15:42:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/healthresearch\/?p=273"},"modified":"2010-07-30T16:42:04","modified_gmt":"2010-07-30T15:42:04","slug":"smart-systems-for-rehabilitation-and-assisted-living-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/healthresearch\/2010\/07\/30\/smart-systems-for-rehabilitation-and-assisted-living-2\/","title":{"rendered":"*Smart Systems for Rehabilitation and Assisted Living*"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Centre for Pain with the Bath Institute for Medical Engineering\u00a0(BIME) and the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT).<\/p>\n<p>Professor Christopher Eccleston<\/p>\n<p>A KTA Partnership Development award is investigating the incorporation\u00a0of the Centre for Pain\u2019s mobile assistive technology with BIME's smart home\u00a0technology to support independent living in the home, for individuals\u00a0with long term conditions and chronic diseases. The project brings\u00a0together partners with academic expertise, a health and social care\u00a0partner and industrial collaborators. Prof. Chris Eccleston will work\u00a0with Dr. Nigel Harris, Director of BIME and colleagues at BIRT, to\u00a0develop the technology and to plan for its commercialisation.
