The WSD programme is believed to  be the largest randomised control trial of telecare and telehealth in  the world to date. Having worked as part of the original Whole System Demonstrator team,  Dave took over the running of the mainstream service in April 2010.  Dave\u2019s background is in the private sector working in operational  management and service development roles for organisations such as BMW  and Thomson Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>WSD has been a real challenge and something that anyone considering  implementing Telehealth should learn from. The focus of this  presentation is how to go about understanding and overcoming those  challenges, using insight from a service that has installed over 1000  people over a 30mth period.<\/p>\n<p>Trevor Drage \u2013 Assistive Technology Manager at Cornwall Council <a href=\"http:\/\/assistedlivingaction.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Trevor-Drage.png\">http:\/\/assistedlivingaction.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Trevor-Drage.png<br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\nTrevor has been the assistive technology manager for Cornwall Council  for 5 years and has led both the Preventative Technology Grant project  work and the Telecare workstream for Cornwall\u2019s Whole System  Demonstrator Programme. He is also a member of CUHTec advanced telecare  users group. He has worked in an operational capacity for Adult Care and  Support since 1993 across Older People\u2019s services, Learning  Disabilities and supported employment for people with a disability.<\/p>\n<p>Trevor commented \u201cMy session on lessons learned from the Whole System  Demonstrator programme will focus on the operational aspects of engaging  potential customers, delivering solutions, monitoring the provision of a  telecare service and how this links in with other social care  interventions.
