{"id":818,"date":"2012-11-27T12:03:33","date_gmt":"2012-11-27T12:03:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/healthresearch\/?p=818"},"modified":"2012-11-27T12:03:33","modified_gmt":"2012-11-27T12:03:33","slug":"818","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/healthresearch\/2012\/11\/27\/818\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><strong>Script in a day for injecting drug users: a feasibility trial<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Engaging heroin users in treatment with methadone and with needle and syringe programmes is important in protecting drug users from Hepatitis C (HCV) transmission.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0This project is aimed at reducing the barriers faced by heroin users, by offering access to the needle exchange scheme at Bristol Drugs Project, and the opportunity to start methadone treatment on the same day. This research is funded by the NIHR, under the \u2018Research For Patient Benefit\u2019 scheme.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Dr Matthew Barber<\/strong> will discuss:<\/p>\n<p>the process of applying for the grant<\/p>\n<p>setting up the project<\/p>\n<p>recruiting participants \u2013 all from the perspective of a \u2018novice\u2019 researcher.<\/p>\n<p>working with a range of organisations, some of \u00a0which are new to the research arena.<\/p>\n<p>collecting the data, the novel methods used, and the quality of the data<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">18<sup>th<\/sup> December 2012<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Board Room, South Plaza, Bristol, 12:30-1.30pm<\/p>\n<p>To book a place please register here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/caredecember12\">www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/caredecember12<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone is welcome.
