Today for our Disability History Month Media Spotlight, we're featuring a popular podcast created and run by The Disability Visibility Project<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The podcast is hosted by Alice Wong<\/a>, a prominent disability rights activist based in California. The podcast began in 2017 and aired its final episode in 2021, covering a whole range of topics from policy affecting disabled people, to disabled creatives and their works, to the struggles faced by those with intersecting identities. There are dozens of in-depth interviews and discussions with disability community leaders and creators, with a particular focus on disability identity, culture, activism and politics. You'll also find an emphasis on intersections of disability and race, gender, sexuality, and other marginalised identities, with a lens on how these are approached from an American perspective specifically.<\/p>\n

You can listen to over 100 episodes for free on The Disability Project website<\/a> - all you have to do is search under 'podcasts'.
