Working with our community we developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/corporate-information\/disability-leave\/\">Disability Leave<\/a> policy in 2013, to ensure that disabled members of staff are able to have paid time away from work to attend treatment, rehabilitation or assessments related to their disability.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What can disability leave be used for? <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>hospital appointments, hospital treatment as an outpatient or specialist check-ups including monitoring of related equipment or treatment<\/li>\n<li>assessment for conditions such as dyspraxia<\/li>\n<li>training, for example, with a guide or hearing dog, or in the use of specialist equipment<\/li>\n<li>counselling or therapeutic treatment<\/li>\n<li>recovery time after blood transfusion or dialysis treatment<\/li>\n<li>physiotherapy<\/li>\n<li>to allow time for adjustments or adaptions to be made<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are proud to share that our Sports Training Village offer, as part of therapeutic treatment, free access to staff with mobility issues or impairments to the hydrotherapy pool.\u00a0 A number of our staff use this facility regularly to support mobility issues.<\/p>\n<p>If you missed it see our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/inclusion\/2023\/10\/18\/national-disability-employment-awareness-month-joining-and-induction\/\">blog on recruitment and agreement for adjustments plans<\/a>.
