{"id":21,"date":"2015-06-05T15:04:17","date_gmt":"2015-06-05T14:04:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/iro\/?p=21"},"modified":"2015-06-09T15:08:45","modified_gmt":"2015-06-09T14:08:45","slug":"going-global-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/iro\/2015\/06\/05\/going-global-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Going Global 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week, I joined the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Internationalisation), IRO Partnerships Manager and\u00a0the Director of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/ichem\/\">ICHEM<\/a>\u00a0at the British Council\u2019s annual international conference - <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishcouncil.org\/going-global\">Going Global 2015<\/a> in London.\u00a0This annual event gathering leaders in Higher Education from around the world was a fantastic opportunity for us to take part in important debates and discuss issues and challenges facing our sector.<\/p>\n<p>With over 1000 participants at\u00a0the conference, it was a great opportunity for us to catch up with existing partners, develop new relationships and\u00a0showcase the University to international stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/iro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2015\/06\/VC-and-Rajani.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-29\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/iro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2015\/06\/VC-and-Rajani-287x300.jpg\" alt=\"VC and Rajani\" width=\"335\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/iro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2015\/06\/VC-and-Rajani-287x300.jpg 287w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/iro\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/98\/2015\/06\/VC-and-Rajani.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 335px) 100vw, 335px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of the\u00a0popular\u00a0sessions - \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishcouncil.org\/going-global\/programme\/sessions\/tne-global-wellbeing-or-new-imperialism\">TNE: global wellbeing or new imperialism?<\/a>\u201d was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and entirely curated by Professor Rajani Naidoo (pictured with the Vice-Chancellor above). Focusing\u00a0on how transnational education can develop creative synergies across borders and cultures, speakers discussed its impacts at local, regional and national levels.
