{"id":2,"date":"2018-10-01T13:28:29","date_gmt":"2018-10-01T12:28:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/kaleidoscope\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2024-03-11T13:37:34","modified_gmt":"2024-03-11T13:37:34","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/kaleidoscope\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This group has been launched by LGBT+ staff members who want to create an inclusive and fun LGBT+ community for staff and postgraduate researchers here at the University of Bath.<\/p>\n<p>The group is open to all staff and postgraduate researchers at the University who identify as LGBT+, including people of any sexual orientation, gender identity or age.<\/p>\n<p>The group aims to provide the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social events to get to know LGBT+ staff and postgraduate researchers from varied departments across the University<\/li>\n<li>Lines of support and contacts for any LGBT+ issues in the workplace<\/li>\n<li>Representation of LGBT+ interests at University level<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can find our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/publications\/terms-of-reference-kaleidoscope\/\">Terms of Reference<\/a> online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please bear in mind that not everybody will be out at work so please be tactful if you bump into another Kaleidoscope member on campus, and do not be offended if they do not acknowledge you \u2013 it\u2019s not personal!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are struggling with coming out\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stonewall.org.uk\/help-advice\/coming-out-0\">the Stonewall website<\/a>\u00a0may be helpful, and includes a section on\u00a0coming out at work. You can also <a href=\"mailto:lgbt-staff@bath.ac.uk\">get in touch with us<\/a> here at Kaleidoscope to chat things over if you need someone to talk to.<\/p>\n<p>Student Support provide support and advice for all students, including PGR students, please see: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/campaigns\/lgbtq-student-support-at-bath\/\">LGBTQ+ student support at Bath<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you experience or witness any form of bullying, discrimination, or harassment (whether it is linked to being LGBT+ or not) while part of the Bath community, we would advise you to access the University's <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/campaigns\/report-and-support\/\">Support &amp; Report Tool<\/a>. All staff, students, and visitors can report discrimination, misconduct, harassment or assault by using this tool.
