Internationalisation at Stellenbosch University.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In 2016, via the\u00a0new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/collections\/worldwide\/\">'Worldwide'<\/a> section of our website,\u00a0we promoted a range of stories tied to our collaborations in\u00a0South Africa and Brazil timed to coincide with important events.<\/p>\n<p>Our South Africa section launched to coincide with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/research\/news\/2016\/05\/03\/going-global-sa\/\">Going Global Conference in Cape Town<\/a> in May, but was an opportunity to talk about a range of ongoing research with international partners from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/case-studies\/water-research-in-south-africa-could-improve-irrigation-systems-worldwide\/\">water irrigation systems<\/a>\u00a0(through the Water Innovation Research Centre) to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/case-studies\/understanding-the-role-of-post-traumatic-parental-support-for-children\/\">responses to child trauma<\/a>\u00a0(through the Department of Psychology).<\/p>\n<p>Launched in August and using the hook of the Olympics,\u00a0our Brazil section\u00a0drove online traffic to\u00a0varied projects from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/case-studies\/breaking-down-polymers-for-global-sustainability\/\">recycling polymers<\/a> (led by the Centre for Sustainable Technologies) to examining <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/case-studies\/examining-the-voting-data-behind-brazils-corporate-governance-reforms\/\">data behind Brazil's reforms to corporate governance<\/a> (led by the School of Management).<\/p>\n<p>Some of this new content has also been used by our international marketing counterparts, including those at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.ac.za\/english\">Stellenbosch University<\/a> (South Africa) who adapted features written for the South Africa section for their alumni and stakeholder newsletter,<em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.ac.za\/english\/matieland\/Documents\/Matieland%202016_English_Download.pdf\">'Matieland'<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>(see pp 16-17).<\/p>\n<p>With the International Office we'll continue to build this relationship - starting with regular catch ups on Skype - so that we can better coordinate marketing and communications when it comes to international visits and research announcements.<\/p>\n<p>Watch this space for more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past year we've done more to tell the stories behind some of the many research collaborations\u00a0that have come about as a result of the University's focus on internationalisation.\u00a0 In 2016, via the\u00a0new 'Worldwide' section of our website,\u00a0we promoted...<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":295,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":"","jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false},"categories":[86,18],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-237","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-international","category-research-news"],"acf":[],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/237","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/295"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=237"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/237\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=237"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=237"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=237"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
