Staff were delighted with a 'cuddly blinking robot', astounded with rainbows and intrigued by their 'superidentity'. Sounds light-hearted but there is some extraordinary <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/research\/\">research<\/a> going on here.<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/physics\/research\/year-of-light.html\">International Year of Light<\/a>, our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/physics\/\">Department of Physics<\/a> demonstrated the spectroscope and how a simple \u2018make your own\u2019 version will allow you to see separate light wavelengths resulting in a beautiful rainbow, as well as their always fascinating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/research\/centres\/cppm\/\">optical fibre research<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/research-marketing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/Physics.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-57 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/research-marketing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/Physics.jpg\" alt=\"Physics\" width=\"601\" height=\"448\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/Physics.jpg 601w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/Physics-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 601px) 100vw, 601px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/psychology\/research\/castl\/create-lab\/\">CREATE Lab<\/a> showed demos from three of its\u00a0research projects, an interactive resource exploring identity from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southampton.ac.uk\/superidentity\/\">SuperID project<\/a>, an energy literacy web tool for schools from SoLa Bristol and Nao the Robot from the <a href=\"http:\/\/gow.epsrc.ac.uk\/NGBOViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP\/L00416X\/1\">BeingThere project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/research-marketing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/CREATElab.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-58 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/research-marketing\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/CREATElab.jpg\" alt=\"CREATElab\" width=\"602\" height=\"802\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/CREATElab.jpg 602w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/knowledge-exchange-and-research-impact\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/86\/2015\/04\/CREATElab-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>All were a great success,\u00a0with staff learning a great deal about the research carried out here at Bath.<\/p>\n<p>And keep your eyes peeled in May for some more great demos from the teams and others around the University as part of the 'Research Rocket goes on tour' campaign in the Lime Tree.
