{"id":112,"date":"2018-04-09T14:12:21","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T13:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/publicengagement\/?p=112"},"modified":"2019-10-01T10:30:12","modified_gmt":"2019-10-01T09:30:12","slug":"come-along-to-engage-public-engagement-in-practice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/publicengagement\/2018\/04\/09\/come-along-to-engage-public-engagement-in-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"Come along to Engage: Public Engagement in Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All are welcome at the annual <em>Engage: Public Engagement in Practice <\/em>event on <strong>Wednesday 9 May, 1 \u2013 4pm, in the Chancellors\u2019 Building<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by Professor Jonathan Knight (Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research)) and overseen by the University\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/public-engagement\">Public Engagement Unit<\/a>, <em>Engage<\/em> recognises and celebrates the diverse range of engaged research taking place across the University.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees will get a sneak preview of 42 entries we received for this year\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/campaigns\/show-why-your-research-matters-images-of-research\/\"><em>Images of Research<\/em><\/a> competition, entries that showcase research from across 15 academic departments.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the chance to meet fellow researchers and a range of community representatives from local organisations that the University collaborates with, attendees can watch the live finals of this year\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/marketing\/public-engagement\/get-involved\/pe-awards\/\">Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Awards for Public Engagement with Research<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Award finalists who have demonstrated excellence in engaged research \u2013 have been challenged to engage us with their research and to talk about the benefits of engagement.
