Is your research related to the natural world? Do you want to share it with local communities and make connections with local environmental organisations? Then sign up to participate in the Festival of Nature 2024 in Bath.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In 2024, the Festival of Nature will return to Bath City Centre for a one-day, multi-venue event. This free, family-friendly\u00a0day will include interactive activity stands, performances, talks, workshops, and food stalls.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event will highlight local organisations working to protect and conserve the natural world across Bath and the surrounding region and will encourage residents to take action for nature.<\/span> This is a great opportunity for you to share your research with interested people, make connections with local organisations interested in nature and have fun at a family-friendly<\/span><\/p>\n

When? <\/span><\/b>The event will be open from 11am \u2013 5pm on Saturday 8 June 2024. Milsom Street Road closures in be in place from 7am \u2013 7pm for set up and pack down.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where?<\/span><\/b> The event hub will be on Milsom Street, which will be closed to traffic. Further activities will take place at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI), The Assembly Rooms, Waterstones, and Bath Central Library.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Who? <\/strong>The Bath Festival of Nature event is open to anyone interested in nature, with a particular emphasis on families and children.<\/p>\n

How? <\/span><\/b>You can bring along an activity, give a talk\/performance, run a workshop, give a book talk or exhibit an artwork or display.<\/span> Find out more below!<\/span><\/p>\n

Get involved<\/h1>\n

Activity or Stand<\/h2>\n

Bring along a science festival activity to engage attendees. The University has four spaces available on 6ft long tables.<\/p>\n

Activity stands will be located on Milsom Street in the 3mx9m and 3x18m tents. These are great ways to showcase your work and engage with family audiences through interactive activities.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Activity stand holders will be able to set up from 9-11am and pack down from 5-6pm.\u00a0<\/span>Please note there is no electricity on Milson Street.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Talk or Performance<\/h2>\n

You could host a talk, performance or panel discussion in National Trust\u2019s Assembly Rooms. Please let us know if you have any ideas or would like to coordinate a performance, talk or panel. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are also keen to hear of street performances for Milsom Street.<\/span> This would be a great opportunity to try out Science Busking<\/a> or other performances!<\/span><\/p>\n

Workshop<\/h2>\n

The festival will be hosting workshops in the Bath Royal Literary Scientific Institute (BRLSI). Workshops could include nature-themed art and crafts, toddler sessions, forest school-style activities, music and drama workshops, or any other family activity! <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop room has a capacity of 32 in cabaret style. Workshops will run for 45 minutes, with 30 minutes between them for set up and pack down. All children will be accompanied by adults.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outdoor walks\/workshops\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You can also run walks and outdoor workshops that will start at Milsom Street.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Book Talk<\/h2>\n

The Festival is working with Waterstones on Milsom Street to programme 2-3 book talks on the top floor of the bookshop. If you\u2019ve written a book about your research or subject area and would like to give a talk,<\/span>\u00a0please let us know.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Artwork or Displays<\/h2>\n

Please let us know if you could bring any plants, artwork or displays to <\/span>showcase<\/span> the street and create a <\/span>Festival<\/span> atmosphere<\/span>!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
