Our workshop series on measuring and evaluating social impact returns for another round this November. Find out more about the programme, what participants thought of our first edition and how to sign up.<\/p>\n

Building skills and expertise<\/h1>\n

Following conversations with researchers and local community organisations in Bath and North East Somerset, we launched a workshop series on measuring and evaluating social impact, led by Stacey Pottinger from Octopus Impact.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Funded by Research England as part of our ParticipatoryResearch@Bath<\/em><\/a>\u00a0project, we were keen to support a range of local community organisations to develop their skills and expertise in this area and provide an opportunity to meet researchers at the University of Bath.<\/span><\/p>\n

The three-week series equipped participants with practical tools and strategies for effectively measuring, evaluating, and communicating their projects' social value.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What did people think?<\/h1>\n

In addition to researchers from the University, we had attendees from local organisations such as Bath Mind, Bath Welcomes Refugees, 3SG, Bath City Farm, Healthwatch, Homeshare, and more\u2014all in different roles and stages of their projects and initiatives, all bringing a breath of experience and generous contributions to the table. <\/span><\/p>\n

By the end of the first week, many attendees were already applying what they\u2019d learned, sharing new approaches with their teams and managers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve showed these tools to my CEO and will carry on showing them to my team. We are going to use them for mapping out future projects and where we are going to go<\/span><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There is so much richness and diversity in this room<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For us, a definite highlight was watching the collaboration and connections between participants grow. From the feedback we received, this was a shared highlight, and the group has continued to stay in touch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The networking part of this has been so important, we are often so busy and working in isolation<\/span><\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
