<em>Images of Research 2024<\/em> competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h1><em>Images of Research 2024<\/em>\u00a0competition<\/h1>\n<p>After a successful\u00a0<span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">two-year return funded by the University's Research England Enhancing Research Culture funding allocation, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/corporate-information\/images-of-research-competition-and-exhibition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Images of Research\u00a0<\/em><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/corporate-information\/images-of-research-competition-and-exhibition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">competition<\/a> is back by <\/span>popular demand!\u00a0 The competition invited colleagues to submit an image and a short plain English description to tell people about research and its benefits to society in five different categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Digital<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 research that is creating positive digital futures<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health and Wellbeing<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 research that is addressing pressing health and wellbeing issues people are facing<\/li>\n<li><strong>Local<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 research that is working with people from Bath and North East Somerset and creating positive outcomes for them and their communities<\/li>\n<li><strong>Partnerships<\/strong> - research that is working in collaboration with people outside academia, including industry, policymakers and civil society and community-based organisations<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sustainability<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 research that is finding sustainable solutions to issues facing the planet and Crime\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>The response from colleagues has been great, with 37 entries from 12 different departments. The entries have included photography, images made by researchers themselves, images made by research participants, and images taken directly from research. Commenting on the entries, Sarah Hainsworth, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">It's fantastic to see how creative and imaginative our researchers have been. Seeing just how diverse our research is and the benefits it's having on society, not only here in Bath and North East Somerset but also further afield, has been inspiring. I would like to thank everyone who submitted an entry to the competition.
