<\/p>\nIt's the deadline the nation has been discussing for months, Thursday 31 October... no, not that one, the deadline for applications for the Public Engagement Unit's Engage Grants.\u00a0Do you have a brilliant idea for a public engagement with research activity? You have one week left to apply for funds to make it happen.<\/p>\n

The Engage Grants have been designed to support you to do public engagement, whatever\u00a0your level of expertise and they are open to researchers, experimental and technical staff and doctoral students at any level.<\/p>\n
With our Engage Grants we aim to support you to increase your skills and understanding of public engagement by funding activities where you have an opportunity to give public engagement a go for yourselves.\u00a0 The Engage Grants are made up of three funds:<\/p>\n
Start-Up\u00a0<\/strong>- for projects up to \u00a3200<\/p>\n This fund is to support you to start a conversation with identified\u00a0communities\/special interest groups\/organisations from outside academia with whom you have not previously engaged. This funding aims to foster relationships and help create conditions for productive conversations that might lead to further public engagement with research activities in the future.<\/p>\n Start-Up Fund guidance<\/a><\/p>\n Start-Up Fund application form<\/a><\/p>\n Initiator\u00a0<\/strong>- for projects up to \u00a3500<\/p>\n This fund will help you carry out small-scale or pilot public engagement projects to: support your learning about engagement, gain experience of engagement and develop your engagement ideas.\u00a0This funding is ideal if you have little or no experience of public engagement.<\/p>\n Initiator Fund guidance<\/a><\/p>\n Initiator Fund application form<\/a><\/p>\n Progression -\u00a0<\/strong>for projects up to \u00a32,500<\/p>\n This fund is to support you if you have prior experience with public engagement to further develop and deepen your skills and knowledge. You could use this funding to expand your existing activities, develop your leadership and facilitation skills in public engagement or to test out innovative engagement activities.<\/p>\n Progression Fund guidance<\/a><\/p>\n Progression Fund application form<\/a><\/p>\n If you would like to apply for an Engage Grant and need some help or advice, we are running two surgeries in the Claverton Rooms on:<\/p>\n During these surgeries members of the Public Engagement Unit will be on hand to answer any questions or offer any advice. If you would like to discuss your application please book a 15 minute slot by emailing public-engagement@bath.ac.uk<\/a>\u00a0along with any details of your ideas or draft applications. If you are unable to make it feel free to email us and we can arrange a chat or offer feedback on draft applications over email.<\/p>\n Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n Applications for the Engage Grants 2019\/20 are now open. The closing date for the\u00a0Initiator\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Progression Funds\u00a0<\/strong>is\u00a0Thursday 31 October at 5pm,\u00a0<\/strong>the\u00a0Start-Up Fund<\/strong>\u00a0will remain open until\u00a0Friday 10 July, 5pm<\/strong>\u00a0or until all the funds are allocated (we are anticipating a total of 10 projects).<\/p>\nHelp with your application<\/h4>\n
