I<\/span> am<\/span> delighted to share this <\/span>guest blog <\/span>from\u202fVicky Hill, Head of Placements & Partnerships in <\/span>the Faculty of <\/span>Engineering & Design, reflecting on the University\u2019s <\/span><\/span>new <\/span>#NeverOK<\/span>: Placements, Internships and Exchanges Module.<\/span> I ask<\/span>\u00a0colleagues<\/span> and students<\/span> to<\/span> engage with<\/span> this new resource <\/span>and share w<\/span>ith others<\/span>, particularly those due to go out on <\/span>a placement, internship,<\/span> research trip<\/span> or study year abroad in the coming months.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"NeverOKThe University of Bath\u2019s new #NeverOK: Placements, Internships and Exchanges Module has been launched to support students with their rights and understanding of their responsibilities so they can contribute to diversity and inclusivity in any workplace or partner University. The e-module is part of the University\u2019s <\/span>#NeverOK initiative<\/span><\/a>, tackling all forms of harassment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We are proud of our students\u2019 engagement with a wide variety of activities away from the University. This can be summer internships, placements, study exchange, casual work or volunteering. Training our students on equality and diversity in the context of the workplace ensures they will thrive in this environment and support partner organisations to improve inclusion and wellbeing for all. Sadly, some of our students will experience discrimination or harassment in the workplace or whilst studying abroad and we want to empower them to act confidently and know where they can access support should they need it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The #NeverOK: Placements, Internships and Exchanges module can be accessed by all students and staff via <\/span>Moodle.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
