Race equality is not a one-week conversation. It shapes how we study, work, collaborate, and lead, and it influences whose talent is recognised, supported and able to flourish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/announcements\/race-equality-week-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">View the Race Equality Week 2026 programme here.<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Race Equality Week also lands at an important moment for the University. In September 2025, Bath achieved the Race Equality Charter Bronze Award from Advance HE. Recognition matters, but what matters more is what we do next. Our focus now is implementation, translating our evidence, our community voices and our commitments into sustained change across the University between 2025 and 2029.<\/p>\n<p>Race Equality Week is an invitation to lean in, listen well, and act with care. The REC Bronze award is a milestone, but our real measure is the impact we deliver together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What to look forward to<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can expect a mix of honest conversations, practical learning, and creative celebration, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Impressions and Lived Experience panel with networking (hybrid)<\/li>\n<li>Bath Mind mental health workshop for ethnic minority group students<\/li>\n<li>Let\u2019s unpack race equality in higher education panel (hybrid)<\/li>\n<li>Active allyship interactive session building racial literacy and bystander confidence<\/li>\n<li>A Library foyer exhibition showcasing a timeline of race equality activity and alumni stories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How this links to our REC Bronze impact<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our REC Bronze award came with clear affirmation of our strategic commitment, senior leadership buy in, and the strength of our staff and student partnership. It also sharpened where we must go further, including clearer accountability, stronger local ownership across faculties and professional services and faster progress on representation in decision making.<\/p>\n<p>Through our action plan, we are focusing on five priority areas: building belonging, tackling bullying and harassment, improving student recruitment and outcomes, addressing disparities in staff recruitment and progression, and increasing ethnic minority representation on committees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Join in and help amplify<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/announcements\/race-equality-week-2026\/\">All Race Equality Week information and activities can be found on this page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please take part, share with your teams and networks, and help us maximise visibility.
