Hello all!
Emma again, here to preach about placement year and how it can bring about some unexpected but amazing experiences.
It's now just over half way for me out here in New Zealand, and the further we get, the more appreciative I am of the uniqueness of this placement at Harbour Sport. The wide range of activities that I've been taking part in as part of the job but also outside of it, thanks to the generosity of people around me, have turned this placement into a huge lesson in personal development.
Yes, it might be miles away from home. You might really miss your friends and family. Or maybe you just love the idea of living in central London paying unreasonably extortionate prices to live in a cupboard (if that's what floats your boat)! I'm kidding obviously, but whatever you chose to do on placement you'll be amazed at all the new things you can get up to when you push yourself outside of your comfort zone.
I've put together a small video that you can watch below that highlights a really small portion of the things I've been getting up to whilst working at Harbour Sport in New Zealand over the past 7 months.
