Most people think university recruitment is straightforward: a job\u00a0opens, you advertise it, interview candidates, recruit someone. Finished.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In reality, it's often more complex work that brings together people, policies, and a changing job market. As a university, we recruit for a wide variety of roles: academics, researchers, professional services staff, technical specialists, operations teams; attracting talent from across the globe. <\/span><\/p>\n

We also understand that if you\u2019re the person doing the recruiting, recruitment isn't the main part of why you\u2019re here and it's another thing to fit in, on an already full plate.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And\u00a0that's\u00a0why\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0starting this blog which will be written by members of our recruitment team who support our university community.\u00a0We'll\u00a0explain what\u00a0happens, share what\u00a0we've\u00a0learned, and\u00a0explore\u00a0the \"why\" behind what we do.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And we know recruitment can sometimes feel like a black box, where things go in and decisions come out, but what happens in between\u00a0isn't\u00a0always clear.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
