This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>exploring the application of reedbeds and algae as sustainable water treatment processes;<\/li>\n<li>enhancing the existing boigas generation from anaerobic digestion;<\/li>\n<li>the development of innovative models to engage communities;<\/li>\n<li>improving asset reliability and security of supply;<\/li>\n<li>and applying advanced analytical chemistry that will give Wessex Water an industry advantage when it comes to identifying pharmaceutical pollutants in waste water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dan Green, Head of Sustainability and Innovation, Wessex Water and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/chem-eng\/people\/arnot\/index.html\">Dr Tom Arnot<\/a>, University of Bath accepted the award on behalf of the team from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/about\/organisation\/senior-management\/staff-profiles\/deputy-vice-chancellor\/index.html\">Professor Bernie Morley<\/a>, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the projects supported above The University and Wessex Water have together invested nearly \u00a32m in setting up the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/research\/centres\/wirc\/\">Water Innovation and Research Centre (WIRC) @ Bath<\/a>, providing a unique environment to engage globally in research and policy on water technologies and resource management.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bath.ac.uk\/ris\/news\/iaadinner2015.html\">Read the full news item.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 29th September 2015 at the University's annual Impact Celebration Dinner the collaboration between Wessex Water and the University of Bath received the 'Aspiring Business Impact' award in recognition of their successful partnership in recent years.
