The WaterEnergyNEXUS provided an international platform to share and discuss important developments on energy and water issues. Water and energy are key components to achieve sustainable development for all. This is emphasized in the sustainable development goals for clean water and sanitation and affordable and clean energy.\u00a0More than 100 international delegates attended the four-day conference.<\/p>\n<p>During the conference five topics within the water energy nexus were covered: Nexus framework and governance, advanced technologies and nature-based solutions for the environmental sustainability of the water sector, control of hazardous substances in water and resource recovery from wastewater, energy saving technologies and future clean energy solutions under water constraints and practical implementation of solutions, including best practices.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/building.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-594 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/building.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"367\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/building.png 367w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/building-300x199.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/building-325x215.png 325w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 367px) 100vw, 367px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The conference was hosted at the historical building of the Diocesan Museum\u00a0of Salerno located in the heart of Salerno city (see picture above).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/waterenergynexus.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-595 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/waterenergynexus.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"579\" height=\"379\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/waterenergynexus.png 579w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/waterenergynexus-300x196.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.bath.ac.uk\/water\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/85\/2019\/01\/waterenergynexus-328x215.png 328w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The WaterEnergyNEXUS provided an international platform to discuss key topics on water issues, including nature-based solutions, advanced technologies and best practices.
