Be Well, what is it?

Posted in: Uncategorised

Welcome to the Be Well Blog

I guess the first question to answer on this blog is, What is Be Well?

Be Well is a new health framework. It is there to help us all consider the different elements that make us happy and healthy.  Often in our busy lifestyles it can be difficult to remain balanced.  Be Well aims to help you realise what areas of your health you might already take care of, those areas you would like to top up or even things you might want to explore for the first time.

There are 5 areas:

Be Active

Walk, run, swim, cycle, try new sports, activities and have fun. Do these frequently and creatively. Staying active doesn’t need to be a chore, small changes can make a big difference.

Be Mindful

Live in the moment and take notice of the things around you. Understand yourself through your experiences, respond well to situations, be calmer and perform better.

Be Healthy

Sleep well, cook new and healthy recipes, enjoy the outdoors and get away from your screen. This will help to make you feel ready and get the most out of your day.

Be Connected

Make time to connect with others around you to feel supported, encouraged, and part of a community. Talk, listen and support others and they will do the same for you.

Be You

Celebrate individuality. Reflect on who you are and who you want to be to become the best version of yourself.

More information and advice is available on the Be Well pages.  There will also be various events, workshops and tasters over the year starting with Be Well week (19-23rd March) which has over 50 free events related to health and wellbeing. This blog will fill up with tips, news and advice from students on maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
