Bargain green travel

I'm off to spend 10 days with Frau Dr Merkel soon – well, not with her exactly, although wherever you are in Germany the good doctor is never far away.  She controls every traffic light, for example.  A busy woman – and she's on the Brexit case as well.

Booking train tickets with Deutsche Bahn, I was told that if I paid an extra €2 per seat then DB would guarantee that we had green electricity powering us.  Imagine that: every other seat using dirty brown coal and our seats as green as you like.  It's marvellous – and quite a bargain.
