The US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Court of St James, the Hon Woody 'Woodpecker' Johnson, has put the genetically-modified cat amongst the chlorine-washed pigeons by insisting that in any post-Brexit trade deal between UK and Uncle Sam all sorts of über-nutritious stuff will have to be imported from the home of enlightenment farming practice: think hormone-fed carrots, slurry-raised hogs, beef that's not been vaccinated against measles, honey-baked raccoon, Tennessee campylobacter pie, deep-fried grits á la mode, and tasteless cheese. All that and we'll have to indemnify US farm conglomerates against any (very unlikely of course) health-related legal cases.
The Hon Woody attacked what he described as a smear campaign against American agriculture by interests with a protectionist agenda, and insisted that US food was not doubleplusungood which is why US citizens [i] are the healthiest in the world, [ii] never get ill (which is why they don't really need heath insurance), and [iii] live forever.
