Our University Life session provides you with information to make the most of your time at university including: how to get involved in the community, staying safe, where to find support if you need it, respect and other useful practical tips such as how to find your way around campus and what you can expect from your first few weeks.
We understand that for some going into a new space for the first time can be challenging. We have created this guide so you know what to expect from the session, how to get to the venue and what the venue looks like inside.
The session - what to expect.
If you find it challenging to enter new spaces or have other accessibility requirements staff will be available to support you.
At this session you can expect:
- Staff and Wellbeing Ambassadors (wearing blue T-Shirts) will be present at the entrance. If you have any questions or need support these staff can help you.
- The talk lasts around 1 hour.
- The talk includes videos (captioned where required).
- Lights will be dimmed during videos.
- The talk will be delivered by a variety of speakers from Student Support and The SU.
- Staff will help seat people to fill the hall from the front. If you would like to sit somewhere you feel more comfortable, please just let us know.
- During the talk there may be times where you are given the opportunity to talk to people around you. Feel free to not take part or ask to be seated at the back.
