“I’m honoured to receive the Good Citizen award at the FED Research Culture Awards 2025. For me, research culture is built in everyday moments, such as showing up for colleagues, sharing time and knowledge, and creating a space where everyone feels welcome and able to succeed. So, being recognised for that means a great deal.”

“The award’s focus on being 'always willing to help' and maintaining a 'positive and encouraging attitude' truly echoes with how I try to work each day. I’m deeply grateful to my supervisors, Prof. Alborz Shokrani, Dr Laurent Perge, and Dr Joseph Betts, whose generosity, guidance, and unwavering support make all the difference; from shaping key research directions to offering thoughtful advice and encouragement in day-to-day work. Their approachable, constructive, and consistently kind leadership has been a constant source of inspiration, and I feel incredibly fortunate to learn from their example.”

“I’m equally thankful to my brilliant research team members and friends, Ishrat Fairoz and Dylan Drew, whose enthusiasm, collaboration, and positivity make every challenge easier and every success more meaningful. Working alongside such dedicated and supportive colleagues has made my PhD journey both rewarding and enjoyable.”

“Finally, thank you to the University of Bath and the Faculty of Engineering & Design for fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment where collegiality is celebrated and supported. I’m excited to keep paying this forward by mentoring, recognising others’ contributions and helping to build the kind of research culture this award champions.”
