The QS Higher Education Summit: Europe 2025 brought together higher education leaders from all over Europe and globally to share the latest trends in student recruitment, discuss new strategies, and discover how technology, data, and design can help with institutional performance goals.

From 16-17 June Dörte Stevenson (Interim Director of International Relations) and Oleksandra Tarchenko (International Rankings Project Manager) from the International Relations Office, along with colleagues Junjie Shen (Research Analytics Librarian) and Emma Senior (Research Marketing Manager in the School of Management), attended the summit which was held in Porto.

Over the course of the two days, the team attended a series of panel sessions and masterclasses, connecting with colleagues and sharing best practice with them. Both colleagues from the IRO had been invited to speak; Dörte was part of a panel discussion on ‘Shaping the future of student mobility’ together with four other speakers, including colleagues from the British Council and the Portuguese National Agency for Erasmus+.

Oleksandra presented as part of the QS Analytics user community, sharing with the audience how the University uses data-driven insights to improve our global visibility.

Oleksandra commented:

"What an incredible experience to attend the QS Higher Education Summit together with my colleagues from Bath. I'm taking home some wonderful insights from the sessions attended, ranging from AI, data and partnerships to the skills that students require to succeed upon graduation."

Dörte added:

"It really was a very full and thought provoking programme. A fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues and hear about all that is going on in the global higher education sector."
