Connect! returns – celebrate the launch of our Social Impact E-Training

Posted in: Community Engagement, Doing Public Engagement

Connect! is back — and this time we’re partnering with the Bath Social Impact Network to celebrate the launch of our brand-new e-learning course, Measuring and Evaluating Social Impact, developed with Stacey Pottinger from Octopus Impact.

Join us on Thursday 25 September at Boston Tea Party, Alfred Street, Bath for an evening of fresh connections, a free drink, and an exclusive introduction to our free online course.

About Connect!

Connect! is a collaborative event series produced by Bath Spa University and the University of Bath. It's designed to bring together creative practitioners, voluntary sector staff, social enterprises, researchers, and local community members to explore shared interests and spark new ideas.

We set up Connect! to create a space for people to come together from a variety of backgrounds and expertise to spark conversations and share ideas about issues that matter to them.

About the Course

In 2024, we ran two popular in-person training series on Measuring and Evaluating Social Impact for researchers and community organisations across Bath and North East Somerset. These were led by Stacey Pottinger from Octopus Impact, and were shaped by real needs identified through community conversations and applications to our Participate Grants.

Due to their success, we’ve transformed this training into an  e-learning course, featuring the same practical tools, exercises, and reflective activities from the original workshops. The course equips learners with tools and strategies to effectively measure, evaluate, and communicate the social value of their projects.

What to expect at the event

This free evening event will spotlight the theme of social impact and mark the official launch of the new online course. You’ll hear from Stacey Pottinger herself, who will introduce the course, share insights from its development, and answer your questions.

Whether you're looking to connect with new people, explore collaborative opportunities, or just learn more about social impact and what the course offers you can come along to this Connect! event.
