Since taking on my role as PVC Education at Bath, one of the things that has brought me the most joy at work, is meeting and connecting with members of our community to talk about the key issues in education.
'Let's Talk Education' is my approach to capturing and sharing those conversations with our community.
Last month was a real high point in the academic calendar for me, as we came together with the Students' Union to celebrate the Education Awards. The Awards evening is such an affirming event, really highlighting the very best of teaching, learning, and of course our incredible SU staff, officers, peer mentors and academic representatives.
Once the high of the awards evening subsided, I was delighted to attend Edufest, where our teaching award winners were invited to share some of their leading practice with the wider staff community.
Edufest is a 2-day event, organised by the Centre for Learning and Teaching, with online sessions, followed by in-person talks, networking and discussion groups. It's a fantastic opportunity to get together, hear about exciting new developments in the world of education, and I came away feeling hugely inspired by the incredible educational experiences we're able to offer our students.
In this video, I chatted to some of our teaching award winners about what inspires them about education here at Bath, their top tips for other educators, and what they're feeling excited about. I hope you enjoy hearing from them, and can experience a little of the Edufest buzz for yourselves!
