Since taking on my role as PVC Education at Bath, one of the things that has brought me the most joy at work, is meeting and connecting with members of our community to talk about the key issues in education.
'Let's Talk Education' is my approach to capturing and sharing those conversations with our community.
In March, I attended the Bath One Young World event, and over the summer, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to sit down with two of its key organisers, Rebecca and Miles to hear all about their experience as delegates of the Global Summit event, and their roles on the organising committee of the Bath event. One thing which really struck me was the sense of belonging and pride they'd got through their involvement, alongside some fantastic personal development opportunities.
I was keen to share our conversation now, as applications are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students for the 2025 organising committee - you can find out more and apply here.
I'm delighted to be attending the One Young World Munich Summit on 04 November, alongside a student delegate from each of the Faculties and School - Ellie Burns, Kaash Cowie, Khushi Sikand and Eleanor Timberlake will bringing their ideas back to the University community for the 10th Anniversary OYW Bath on 21 March 2026.
I'll be presenting a keynote on 'Driving Impactful Leadership in Universities', and Rebecca, who features in this video, will be presenting a workshop titled ‘Redefine Empowerment – a global refugee mentorship initiative’ with One Young World Ambassadors she met during her attendance at OYW Montreal as a Bath student, with the support of NGO ReDI School.
We're excited for these upcoming One Young World events in the year ahead, and hope this video inspires more of you to get involved!
