GW4 Forum on Race Equity

Posted in: Uncategorised

On 5th June 2025, we proudly hosted the first GW4 Forum on Race Equity at the University of Bath.  It was indeed a powerful space for connection, learning, and action. With the support of senior leaders, expert facilitators, and passionate colleagues, we explored what it truly means to move beyond statements and embed race equity into the fabric of our institutions.

The day opened with warm welcomes and reflections from Prof. Marcus Munafò (Our Deputy Vice Chancellor) and Dr Teslim Bukoye (Our Race Equality Charter Lead), followed by an engaging behavioural science workshop led by Georgina Brown of BARDO and Advance HE. It was great to see Advance HE’s Tinashe Verhaeghe highlight the focus on collaboration within our GW4, an agenda for our next meeting. We discussed shared barriers and exchanged good practice across the GW4 network.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and shared openly. Your presence and participation reaffirmed why collective action is essential.

We’ve taken a strong first step and the journey ahead looks promising.
