No Grounds for Optimism?

Posted in: News and Updates

Buying a cup of coffee recently, I noticed a sign which said that the company would be happy to let you have the coffee grounds left over from your drink so you could take them home — for composting, putting on the garden, or making a collage, presumably.  Is this just wacky, or a disturbing trend towards greater individualism?  Either way, diseconomies of scale would seem to be the first problem to overcome, then there's all the extra packaging.  Bad idea, I thought, and didn't take up the offer.
