I am mildly encouraged that UKSSD has been invited by DfID to discuss its report, Measuring up, on the Sustainable Development Goals in the UK and how this might contribute to the UK’s contribution (it's a Voluntary National Review) to the UN next year. Whether this will be a high level UN panel or a low level one, isn't clear.
It was, however, the least that DfID could do. Clearly, UKSSD will be well represented, but who will pitch up from DfID – a high level or low level set of civil servants? This will be one measure of how seriously the report is being taken.
Maybe a minister; maybe not.
