Hi! I am Runi, a student at the University and a Digital Skills Co-Creator (SCC) in the Digital and Academic Skills Team at the Skills Centre. Through my own experience at university, whether through studies or work, I am aware that Generative AI (GenAI) and digital tools are becoming a bigger part of student life. To make sure students at Bath are supported to use these tools effectively, ethically and confidently, we’re developing a student‑led GenAI and Digital Skills Hub, and we want your input.
This isn’t something being built about students without asking them first. It’s being designed with students, based on your real experiences. Whether you already use GenAI and digital tools all the time, use them occasionally, or aren’t sure where to start at all, your insights genuinely matter.
The idea so far
The Hub will be a collaborative community space, led by students and facilitated by staff, open to all University of Bath students. Among other things, it will support you to:
- enhance academic success
- prepare for the workplace and future careers
- learn ethical and responsible use of GenAI and Digital tools
- share ideas, experiences and advice with other students
But…. nothing is fixed. What the Hub becomes will be defined by what students say they actually need.
Why this matters
This is one of the few initiatives where students aren’t being consulted at the end, your input shapes it from the start. Your experiences, concerns, ideas and even uncertainties will directly influence what support is created and what’s prioritised.
Have your say
You can help shape the Hub by:
- completing a 10‑minute online the survey
and / or
- joining a 45‑minute focus group (with an online option and an in-person option available)
The goal is to create something that reflects how students actually work, not how we’re assumed to work. Take part, provide your feedback and help design the future for you and other students.
