Life by the Lake with Rebecca

Posted in: Life by the Lake

We ask current students about their life at the University of Bath and their tops tips for being a student.  In this blog we speak to Rebecca, a Modern Languages student about batch cooking, bubble tea, and lo-fi beats.

If you could go back what advice would you give to yourself at the start of your first year?

Always make time for downtime/relaxation, despite how hectic uni life can sometimes be!

What is your best student hack?

Batch cook your meals so you don’t have to cook everyday.

Favourite meal to share with friends?

What café, restaurant or place in town is your favourite?

Pawpaw bubble tea shop!

What is your hidden gem in Bath?

Prior Park – It has some of Bath’s classic architecture surrounded by a beautiful garden and lakes.

What do you do to unwind?

Watching TV/Movies.

How do you like to spend your time with friends?

I love having picnics with my friends to catch up and enjoy some of Bath’s scenery.

What is your best money saving tip?

Take advantage of student discounts.

Who or what picks you up when you are down?

Listening to upbeat/happy songs.

What’s your worst habit?

I can sometimes be a bit messy!

What helps you focus or be productive?

Listening to music without lyrics. I like listening to lofi beats and piano instrumentals of my favourite songs.

Best place to go for some fresh air?

I love visiting the lake on campus to get some fresh air and maybe even see some ducks!

What couldn’t you live without?

Listening to music!

What is your favourite song and why?

Sparks Fly (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift! It always brightens my mood and reminds me of good memories.

Best piece of advice you have been given?

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!
