Accessing the Careers Service as a new graduate

Posted in: Careers Resources, Careers Service Update, Uncategorized

We know that this year graduation is looking very different to what you might have expected. We want to reassure you that the Careers Service is still here to support you. The Careers Service supports all University of Bath alumni. As a new graduate you will still have access to MyFuture including appointments and events.

Accessing MyFuture

At the start of August your MyFuture account will switch over to a graduate account. When you log in you’ll need to choose the ‘Graduate’ option rather than current student. Your username will still remain the same.

Your account will now be linked to whatever personal email address you had on your student record. An automated email will be sent to this address when the switch happens confirming your username.

If you no longer have access to this email or would like to change the address, please email us and we can update your record. In order to verify your identity please email us from your Bath.edu email address or provide details of your student number and education record when you request this change.

Please note that any details held by the Alumni team or other parts of the University are completely separate to your MyFuture account.

Resources

Once you are logged into MyFuture as a graduate you will be able to continue accessing our fantastic resources. This includes our psychometric testing packages which are all open to graduates. We are continually updating with new resources so it is worth checking back.

We have a dedicated Coronavirus resource hub which collates relevant resources. Go to Coronavirus support and resources.

Alongside this we have a range of Get Started guides covering all aspects of your career journey. Go to Get Started guides.

Virtual events

We will be running most of our events virtually over the coming months. Which means as a graduate you can access these from wherever you are. Our Autumn Careers and Placements Fair will also be virtual this year. We are running a virtual PGT employer networking event on August 3-6. Find out more

We do our best to record as many of our events as we can and you find recordings in the Resources area on MyFuture. We already have quite a large archive of previous event recordings so it is well worth a browse.

Keep up to date with our latest events and book your place on MyFuture.

Appointments

Appointments are still available over the summer. At the moment these are all running remotely, but even when we do eventually return to face-to-face options, remote appointments are always an option if you are away from Bath.

It is worth mentioning that we experience a huge amount of demand during Semester 1. So if you need support, don’t hesitate! Make the most of the summer and get booked in while we are quieter.

Find out the latest about our appointment policies.

Stay Connected – support for the class of 2020

Stay Connected, a bespoke programme of support for the Class of 2020 is ongoing. The Careers Service is collaborating with Skills, Wellbeing and Alumni to offer a range of events and resources.  You can find out more about the programme on the University website.

This is also a dedicated mini site with event listings and resources. This uses the same log in information as your MyFuture account. Go to Stay Connected on UniHub

Final thought

We know that new graduates this year are facing a lot of uncertainty and potentially challenging circumstances. We hope that the support we can offer you will help you in finding your next step.

If you aren’t sure if we can help or have a question, please email us via careers@bath.ac.uk
