LGBT+ History Month: Your Career and the Workplace

Posted in: Alumni Case Study - Equality and Diversity, Diversity, Tips & Hints, Uncategorized

This month as part of celebrating LGBT+ History Month, the University has some great events and workshops lined up. Some of these events also have a career focus  so in this blog we pick out some key ones to look out for starting this Thursday 11th February! These events are for all students and staff who are part of the LGBT+ community or their allies.

Emma Sarjeant Internal Co-ordinator, SU LGBT+ Diversity and Support Group welcomes you to these events:

"We are thrilled to see how many events are being put on, throughout LGBT+ History Month, by different groups in the University. The events are open to anyone and are a safe space to ask questions, engage in discussions, and embrace the LGBT+ community. There are events that boost confidence, self-esteem, and understanding amongst the community and allies encouraging embracing yourself. It is also important to know your rights as an LGBT+ person in the workplace, and the personal nature of the Panel Event will allow you to get advice on coming out, disclosing to your employer of experiencing harassment."

Emma will be around to welcome students to the Thursday Careers Panel event.
