Students and alumni of the University of Bath can use Graduates First to practise employer tests ahead of an interview or assessment centre. Logging in with our Bath specific link means you won’t need to pay a penny – we subscribe to Graduates First so you can practise for free.

If you’ve never used Graduates First, or if you are not sure where to start, this blog will talk you through all the different things you can do on the platform.

Application guides

Our MyFuture resources are a great place to get started with your applications. For in-depth advice on a specific employer’s recruitment practice, you can search Graduate First’s application guides. These are regularly updated by a dedicated team who research some of the biggest employers, and can help you better understand what to expect from start to finish.

Practice tests

You probably already know that large companies use psychometric tests in their recruitment, but it can be overwhelming to not know which ones! This is where Graduates First can help. In their application guides mentioned above, you can practise the psychometric tests you are likely to come across in your assessment – whether that’s numerical, verbal or something else entirely. They also have an Interview Question Identifier tool to help you identify the questions that are most likely to appear in your interview. It’s a good idea to do as much practice as you can, and knowing what to expect in advance can help you make the most of your preparations.

Graduates First offer verbal, numerical and logical reasoning tests, a work style personality quiz, and the Watson Glaser critical thinking practice test, to name just a few!

Once you’ve had a go, you can check your answers, download your results or view your progress over time. Don’t be discouraged if you didn’t do as well as you hoped – these tests are free for you to practise as often as you need. Just make sure to log in with our Bath specific link to ensure full access.

Search for jobs

Graduates First have a jobs portal much like we do on MyFuture. However, as the name might suggest, this is specifically for graduate roles. Search by job title or location to see what’s currently available. You’ll be taken straight to the employer’s recruitment page. Find jobs in the ‘My Jobs’ tab.

Video resources

Graduate First have produced bite-sized YouTube videos on graduate recruitment. These include common interview questions, job tests and other tips for succeeding in the selection process. You can find them on their YouTube channel or in the ‘My Learning’ tab on the portal.

Getting started

If you’re a current student, you can register with your bath.ac.uk email address from our Bath specific link, which provides full access to the platform for free. If you’re an alumni, you can register with your bath.edu address if you have one. If you don’t have a Bath email address, you’ll need to email us with some details so that we can verify your alumni status. Once we have this information, we’ll create an account for you and let you know your login details.
