It's not too late! Support for final year students

Posted in: Finding a Job

If you are not sure what your next step is going to be after leaving Bath - don't panic! You may be wondering if you have left it too late to plan your next steps, find a job or get support from the Careers Service. This is not the case!

Support for as long as you need it

Graduates have support from the Careers Service for as long as you need us. There are no restrictions or cut offs. We are also open throughout the summer. In fact, this is a great time to use us as our appointments are much quieter than they are in Semester 1.

Our Advisers are totally impartial and confidential. Their aim is to support you with working out what your next steps are. Whatever your aspirations - this is a judgement free zone.

All our appointments are available remotely via Microsoft Teams or on the phone. So if you are no longer in Bath this is not a problem.

Plenty of opportunities

While it's true that many graduate schemes and jobs do have deadlines in the Autumn, it's important to remember that this isn't the case for all employers. Contrary to what it may feel like, graduate schemes make up a very small proportion of graduate recruitment. Many companies and organisations have ongoing recruitment for graduate roles throughout the year as they recruit on an as-needed basis with an immediate start date.

So there are still plenty of opportunities available for you to find now. And if you want to apply to graduate schemes this Autumn, we can support you with that process and what you might do in the meantime as well.

Next step

It is never too late. You may have never used the Careers Service before (no judgement here!) or have no idea what you want to do next. Things might feel confusing or maybe you just want some reassurance .We are here to help and will continue to support you for as long as you need us.

So one simple step to get started. ..

Get logged into MyFuture.

This is the place for all things Careers. Browse opportunities, event listings, resources, appointments and much more (sign in with your University credentials - you will get a graduate account in the next few months)

And if you get stuck, have questions or just want to have a chat  - contact us. You can reach the Careers Service via careers@bath.ac.uk. Or call us on 01225 386009.
