My Science Fair Project Competition 2023 – come and join the fun!
Students and staff from our Department of Physics are working with the Wiltshire Music Centre to put on the 2023 My Science Fair Project Competition.
Are you a young scientist aged 5 - 11? Are you interested in science and the world around you? Want to learn more about the world outside of the classroom?
Then why not take part in the My Science Fair Project Competition! Learn from students and academics at the University of Bath and design an awesome project to be a part of the fun and win amazing prizes.
You can choose one of our four exciting topics to explore in your project: Ocean Sounds, Planets, Atoms or Light.
If you have never made a project before at home, don't worry - our team of scientists are ready to help you throughout the process. To help you investigate and choose your topic, check out the videos and resources on the Wiltshire Music site, created by Physics students from the University of Bath. You can also discuss your ideas with our friendly scientists at one of our My Science Fair Virtual Drop-In sessions.
Best of all, you’ll present your project to our judges at My Science Fair on Sunday 12th March at the Wiltshire Music Centre! This is a fun, free family day out which is jam-packed with opportunities to learn and play, including eye-opening demonstrations, hands-on workshops and performances aimed at primary school-aged science enthusiasts and their families.

What will I need to do?
- Sign up to the Project Competition at the top of this page - places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
- Choose one of our four topics - find out more using the videos and sheets below.
- Discuss your ideas with scientists at one of our My Science Fair Virtual Drop-In sessions. You can book which sessions you would like to attend in the sign up form.
Create your project. - Join us for My Science Fair 2023 to present your project to our team of friendly judges, join in activities and workshops and win exciting prizes.
