Brilliantly Engineered a triumph for local engineering

The University was thrilled to take part in BRLSI's Brilliantly Engineered event over last weekend (24-25 February) which saw a celebration of Banes-based engineering prowess. Thousands of people visited the BRLSI's Queen's Square site to see exhibitions, take part in activities and delve into the world of engineering.

For the University of Bath, it was an opportunity to showcase both the engineering research that is carried out here, alongside the varied learning opportunities we offer.  Our Team Bath Racing Electric students had a stand at the event where visitors could test their driving response times, learn about electric car engineering and explore opportunities to learn more about automotive and electrical engineering.

One of the event's highlights was the debut of our brand new Bath chapter of the Women's Engineering Society. This initiative underscores our commitment to diversity and inclusion in STEM fields, providing a platform for aspiring female engineers to thrive and excel. The chapter is being launched this spring, driven by our Engineering Faculty, and will allow female academics and local industry professionals to network, collaborate and learn together.

The University was featured at the event alongside local engineering greats, including BMT, Dyson, Buro Happold, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, Rotork and Cross Manufacturing. From unveiling the cutting-edge projects by local engineering companies to highlighting the groundbreaking research undertaken within our university labs, every aspect of the event reflected the spirit of ingenuity and collaboration required for a brilliantly engineered future.

Our Team Bath Racing Electric students enjoyed meeting local families and inspiring their interest in electrical and automotive engineering.
