The World Symposium on Sustainability Science: Implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals will be held in Manchester from the 5th to 7th of April, 2017. It is being organised by Manchester Metropolitan University, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, and the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Programme, in cooperation with UN bodies too numerous to list, and "government offices and authorities, universities, enterprises, NGOs and grassroots organisations from across the world".
The grandiose list of those involved in this is so all-encompassing that, if you don't go, you could be the only one staying at home (as well as me, of course). Full details are here.
There are lots of very good reasons to go to Manchester, from music to museums and fashion to food, but I suspect that this may not be one of them.
