The Bath Centre for Pain Research and Bath Research and Development are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Officer to support portfolio pain management research trials, based in primary care.
Specifically the post holder will support an existing research project undertaken for an NIHR Research for Benefit project, run by a full time NHS clinical psychologist. The focus of the study is on the use of cognitive behavior therapy in primary care. As part of wider portfolio building, the post holder will also work flexibly and responsively to support a small but research portfolio. The full time role is based in the Bath Centre for Pain Research in the University of Bath.
The post involves close liaison with health and primary care commissioners and general practices as well as the Primary Care Research Network. You will also work collaboratively with the appropriate research teams to support ongoing portfolio studies in pain and support the growth of research in this area.
A willingness to travel locally is required. We are looking for individuals with a PhD in a relevant subject, experience of pain research, working in primary care and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of NHS regulations is desirable.
The proposed start date of this position is 3 January 2012 and is to cover maternity-leave for 9 months.
