The Digital Manufacturing Lab is now open at the Bath Ventures’ Innovation Centre to showcase the power and the potential of RepRap 3D printing technology. The Lab provides easy access to 3D printing and prototyping for new product ideas, all in an environment supported by experts. Come to see this exciting demo and hear more....
RepRap: Manufacturing for the Masses
Speaker: Dr Adrian Bowyer
"Look at your computer setup. Imagine that you hooked up a 3D printer. Instead of printing on bits of paper this 3D printer makes real, robust, mechanical items. To give you an idea of how robust these items are think of Lego bricks and you’re in the right area. You could make lots of useful stuff, but interestingly you could also make most of the parts to make another 3D printer. That would be a machine that could copy itself…”
Dr Adrian Bowyer, the father of the RepRap Project, from University of Bath’s Mechanical Engineering Department talks about the business potential of RepRap – the self-replicating, rapid- prototyping, 3D Copier! Come along to the Digital Manufacturing Lab's first networking event and find out what the RepRap can do for your business. Also great opportunity to meet others who are using this technology already as well as see the RepRap machine in action!
