If you are LGBTQ+, did you know that we have specific LGBTQ+ student accommodation available?
Campus Services put a lot of care into choosing the right locations. While exact buildings are not publicly disclosed — for privacy and sensitivity — they have ensured there’s a range of options to suit different preferences, budgets and lifestyles. Whether a student prefers a quieter spot, a lively hub or something in between, Campus Services aim to offer a choice that feels right for them.
Before launching the initiative, Campus Services did their homework. They spoke with other universities, explored best practices and listened closely to what students actually wanted. One message came through loud and clear: provide a safe space, but don’t make students feel singled out.
That’s why, once students are allocated, the accommodation operates exactly like any other. No labels. No special rules. No different treatment. The only people who know the specific flat locations are Reslife, Operations and Security teams, who are briefed to support students with discretion and sensitivity throughout the year.
We know that not every student has shared their identity with family or friends, so our communications remain discreet at every stage. Students will self-select if they want to live in LGBTQ+ specific accommodation on their application. If allocated this type of accommodation it will appear on their personalised accommodation offer which will be sent to the nominated email address they have chosen to register with.
