Share Your Research at the Festival of Nature 2026

Do you study the natural world? Are you excited by the idea of talking about your research with local communities, families, and people who care about the environment? Then come get involved in the Festival of Nature 2026 in Bath!

This year, the Festival of Nature will be running 'South Gate Family Day',  a vibrant, free, drop‑in celebration of nature, right in the heart of Bath at Southgate shopping centre. It’s a brilliant opportunity to bring your research to life, spark conversations, and build connections with local environmental organisations.

What’s Happening?

The event will showcase:

  • Hands‑on activity stands led by conservation groups and researchers
  • Creative craft sessions for families
  • Live performances celebrating nature and local wildlife

Festival of Nature is particularly keen to include interactive, nature‑themed research activities that help visitors learn about the natural world, discover what research is happening locally, and explore how they can take action for nature.

Activities run by University of Bath researchers at the festival have included:

  • co-created artworks exploring the impacts of climate change on young people
  • citizen science activities exploring how fruit flies drink alcohol to avoid infections
  • creative workshops for young people exploring their use of green space
  • interactive stalls about the future of transport
  • and much more!

If you have an idea that connects people with your research about the natural the world, then the Festival of Nature is the place for you! Watch a video from the 2019 Festival of Nature to see activities from University of Bath researchers.
