It's great to recognise the contribution staff bring to the work of the University. I'm delighted that so many technical staff were nominated for awards at the University Teaching Awards and the Student Union Education Awards this year.
Particular congratulations to Neil Price, Technical Supervisor in Engineering and Design Technical Services for winning the category of Support Staff Member of the Year! Neil was commended for the effort he has put into transforming the student experience in the Architecture and Civil Engineering Labs over the past year. However, I'd also like to highlight other technical staff who were nominated as they all deserve recognition!

This award recognises exceptional and/or innovative team work and collaboration in the delivery of learning and teaching. Nominees are those who have made an exceptional contribution to the student experience in learning and teaching. Again, technical teams punched above their weight in terms of the proportion of nominations and goes to show the importance of technicians in delivering teaching and learning.
