Welcome the new Women's Network – Career, Growth and Community

Posted in: Uncategorised

We have a new Women's Network – Career, Growth and Community (WN:CGC) aimed at women in grades 2 – 7. This network has been established as a result of the Professional Services Women's Early Career Network survey feedback and institutional Silver Athena Swan action plan. A committee of volunteers led by Co-Chairs Judith Brown and Creina O’Shea have some exciting plans in store.

The aims of the network are to enable connections, address common difficulties and facilitate peer support and training opportunities to women in grades 2-7 working in the university. We hope to develop a welcoming and inclusive community for all members.

We have been pleasantly surprised to see the level of engagement and interest so far with over 280 members since the official launch. We will be acting on feedback and providing more details on events to look forward to this academic year.

Our committee is comprised of 8 volunteers from (left to right): Amy Lippai, Tessa Kerslake, Jess McCallum, Judith Brown, Creina O’Shea, Amy Jefferies, Philippa Dunn and Beckie Upton (not pictured).

As an initial step the Co-Chairs of the Network have set up a Teams channel. Please join to stay up-to-date with the latest news.

We look forward to meeting as many if you soon and thank you for all the support so far. Watch his space!
