We’re excited to introduce this year’s Student Co-Creators (SCCs) at the Skills Centre!
They are current University of Bath students bringing real insight into student experiences and helping us improve how we support students across a range of skills support. Over the next few months, they’ll be working on a variety of projects, from developing new resources on MySkills, to shaping new Digital and GenAI initiatives and enhancing My Employability Profile.
Below, you can get to know each of them and find out what they’re most excited to work on.
Amy
Hi, my name is Amy and I’m a second year Natural Sciences student. Outside of my course I am chair of the Catholic society (CathSoc) and enjoy sports including taekwondo as well as kayaking. This semester, I’ve also taken the challenge of starting to learn French for the first time since my GCSEs.
Within my role as a Skills co-creator for academic projects, I’m looking forward to developing my technical competencies in tools such as Canva in addition to learning more generally about how projects are successively implemented. Over the summer I worked as a Bath insights intern within the academic registry where my main project in that role was reviewing the web pages of the academic registry; I’m really hoping I can use what I learnt over the summer to make the academic skills provision truly student centered.
Runi
Hi! My name is Runi and I am currently in my second year at the university pursuing Sport management and coaching. I am also a peer mentor and student ambassador for my course. Outside of my degree, I am the captain of the women’s badminton team, and I love to travel or just spend time with my friends.
I am excited to start my new role as Skill's co-creator where I would be working within the digital skills team. What particularly interests me about this role is to create positive student experiences by genuinely listening to student voices and designing accessible and inclusive digital resources for the students.
I am hoping to develop my knowledge about digital tools such as Canva through this role, I am also looking forward to the research element of the role as I thoroughly enjoy engaging with data and learning about people’s experience.
Ngan
Hi, I’m Ngan from Vietnam, and I moved here six months ago to study MSc Human Resource Management at the University of Bath. My background is in Human Resource, Business Management, and Creative Production. Outside of work and study, I enjoy reading, art, and trekking.
During my relatively short time at the University of Bath, I’ve been trying to make the most of opportunities to gain exposure to the international academic environment as well as the local labour market. This is the main reason I applied for the SCC role. I’m also particularly interested in training and development and employability coaching, and I would love the opportunity to contribute my experience to support other students while further developing my own skills through this role.
Through this opportunity, I hope to deepen my understanding of project management and the development of educational and training content for students, as well as strengthen relevant technical skills such as data collection and analytics.
We’re really looking forward to sharing the work they’ll be doing and seeing their ideas develop into resources that you can use throughout your university life.
